Howdy folks.

I suppose it's technically summer now, although in the UK the summer sun kinda came and went agen, leaving us with some turrrible weather more suited to winter perhaps! Looking like the sun might break through now though, so things are looking up.

How awfully British... starting things off by talking about the weather! Anyways. I've finished university for good now, had my last exams in May and came home for the summer a week ago. It feels like things are moving fairly slowly... There isn't so much to fill up my days, without all of the uni activities, uni friends, and uni exams. I'm getting busy with karate though, and starting to get stuck in down at the stables with mum - i've been doing some mucking out for pocket moneys, and today I went riding for the first time in ages (probably since last summer). Tomorrow is a fairly important day; the degree results come out, so I get to phone up and find out how well/badly I did. Then I suppose I can update my CV and start looking for jobs ;p

The plan at the moment is to chill out over the summer, then go to France to work on my dad's new place with him in August. Then i'll just carry on helping him out there on and off until I find a job... I'm quite looking forward to getting out there, the place looks really lovely and I haven't been there yet. Nice big lake, some woodland, and a big old house to work on! If I don't find a job anytime soon then there's still plenty to keep me busy for a year or two, so i'm not worried about short-term prospects hehehe.

On a slight downer, my girlfriend and I broke up, but we are working at being friends at the moment. I hope that works out, because she still means a lot to me.

Right, over and out!

Ahojte. Work is a downer. But things that don't kill us, neh? Things went a bit screwy with the dissertation work because my supervisor was away for a couple months and I couldn't find any help with analysis, so basically I had some trouble and missed the deadline wednesday and needed to get an extension :( I finished the dissertation yesterday, and printed it today, but now have loads of other work due in so it's all go go go. Fun fun fun! Anyways, i've had the beer of the day, so I guess it's back to work. I miss DA'ing :'( We hopes normal service shall be resumed shortly ;P Laterzzz

P.S. If anyone fancies reading my dissertation, the link may now be found below. Don't know that i'd recommend it for light reading....

Howdy!

Well, things have stalled a bit with my dissertation... I need to decide what analysis i'm doing, and my supervisor and myself are going to consult with someone at the CCW who might know more about rivers etc. Except she hasn't gotten back to me yet... So, at the moment, there's not so much to do on the project (well, there's some literature stuff, and some re-buffering I guess, but the main thrust of the project is still on hold). So, a bit of a downer when I felt like things were moving steadily, but ah well!

Lazy weekend. I went out in fancy dress on friday (in a fancy dress), but took the rest of the weekend off from major activity! Tried out the new buffering method for my project, but apart from that nothing on saturday except for helping out in the SU bar's cloakroom in the eve - sadly this kept me up til until about 2am or something ridiculous (and my laptop addiction kept me up even later). However, it wasn't unproductif - I learnt some Ukrainian while I worked!

So this morning I stirred not, until a reasonable time (around 9ish). Then I watched two films in bed (both with Milla Jovovich in them), with breakfast in between. This bizarrely consisted of plum and custard strudel. ;P Then I finally got round to something i'd been meaning to do all weekend - drawing some art of Milla Jovovich. Recent interest in aforesaid actress of east european descent is due to watching the Fifth Element again and realising how amazing she is. And then I discovered she was a musician and a fashion designer so yeah she's done a lot with herself :P So ja, did a pencil drawing that came out well, and spent some time photoshopping... Then had lunch at about 6 or 7pm. ^_^ Lack of food notwithstanding, nice day; feel like I accomplished something. :D

Right well, Reading Week is over so back to lectures tomorrow. 12 days and counting til the girlfriend visits! ^_^

  • Mood: Artistic
  • Listening to: Milla Jovovich
  • Reading: How to speak Ukrainian (when I can be bothered)
  • Eating: Not much (skipped dinner)
  • Drinking: Coffee an Carlsberg.

Productive Day

Well, today was mildly productive, even though I was in bed til about 1pm watching Supernatural and stuff... After breakfast/lunch (yum) I got a few hours of dissertation work in, then learnt how to circular breathe on the digeridoo after dinner (pie!). Somewhere along the way I also got some Kata practice in, so all in all it was probably about as productive as most of my days SHOULD be... :S But that's my resolution for tomorrow eh!

A Hundred and One!

Woo I broke the 100 mark, yay for deviations *waves arms around* *cheers*

Another reason to celebrate.. I finished all my exams last friday. They went fairly well as far as I can tell, so I can relax until lectures start (monday) and they start giving us more assignments to do.... o_0 Hopefully this latter eventuality won't be actualised right away eh! Bwahahaha...
